  P.U. Management Review

P.U. Management Review is the bi-annual journal of the University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. The Journal seeks to disseminate knowledge pertaining to current research and practices in management and to initiate discussion and communication among management practitioners, professionals and academics and researchers on managerial and administrative problems and thus facilitate inter change of manageria, India. The Journal seeks to disseminate knowledge pertaining to current research and practices in management and to initiate discussion and communication among management practitioners, professionals, academics and researchers on managerial and administrative problems and thus facilitate inter change of managerial experiences.

P.U. Management Review will consider for publication a wide variety of work. You are invited to send research papers based on empirical investigations, articles examining and developing theory, case studies, articles about ‘best practices’ and new managerial tools, abstracts of M.Phil. dissertations and doctoral thesis, annotated bibliographies, etc. You may also send books for being reviewed. Normally the task of reviewing books and conducting interviews will be assigned by the editor himself.

While the manuscripts submitted to P.U. Management Review may be of any form, pertaining to any functional area of management or any type of organisation the manuscripts should be original work of high quality. The contents of the manuscript should not only take ample cognisance of extant theory and literature pertaining to that topic, they should also be methodologically sound. Demonstrated methodological rigour greatly enhances the credibility of the manuscript. All manuscripts will go through a process of blind review before they are accepted.

All correspondence pertaining to P.U. Management Review may be carried out either with the Editor, Prof. P.P. Arya, or with the Assistant Editor, Dr. (Mrs.) Anupam Bawa.

The manuscripts submitted to P.U. Management Review should be prepared in accordance with the currently widely accepted practices. These are being put forth in the ‘P.U. Management Review - Guidelines to Contributors’ given below.

Guidelines for Contributors

*The manuscripts submitted to P.U. Management Review should be of original work.

In the covering letter accompanying the manuscript, the contributor should certify that the manuscript has neither been published anywhere nor is it at present being considered anywhere for publication.

*Submit two copies of the manuscript, typed in double space on A4 size paper. (Of course, we even accept manuscripts e-mailed to us. The names and addresses for submission and correspondence have been given in the accompanying ‘Call for Papers’).

*The length of the manuscript (excluding notes, bibliography/references, appendices, tables, figures etc.) should preferably not exceed twenty five pages.

*Unless expressly indicated otherwise, P.U. Management Review will conduct all correspondence with the first named contributor.

*P.U. Management Review will acknowledge receipt of all manuscripts.

*The first page of the manuscript should be the title page. It should contain the title of the manuscript and the name, designation, address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address of each contributor.

*The second page of the manuscript should contain the abstract and be of length not exceeding 200 words. It should contain the relevance of the research, the rationale of the hypothesis, the major findings and their implications. Some key words should be given at the end of the abstract.

*The use of first person and active voice in the body of the manuscript is welcome.

*In spite of their best efforts contributors may find it difficult to eliminate self citation. In that case, in the covering letter, do mention the page numbers on which there are references/details of your earlier work so that P.U. Management Review may suitably treat these before sending the manuscript for blind review.

*It is the contributor’s responsibility to guard against possible copyright infringement by them, with respect to the matter taken from other sources and used by them in their writing.

*By way of footnotes, only explanatory footnotes may be used. Do not use any reference footnotes.

*Bibliographical references should be cited in the text by the author’s last name and date e.g. (Taylor, 1911) or Taylor (1911).

*In the body of the manuscript do indicate the place where it would be most appropriate to place a table or figure eg. ‘Table 1 somewhere have’ could be written in pencil in the margin.

*Entries in the references should be in the alphabetical order of the last name of the first author and should be in the format name(s), date, title of publication, place, publisher’s name etc.

*Each table and figure should be typed on a separate page, carry a unique arabic number, a title, complete labels and if need be footnotes.

*Each manuscript received by P.U. Management Review will be subjected to a process of ‘blind’ review.

*It will be our endeavour to convey the results of the review to the contributor within three months of the receipt of the manuscript.

*P.U. Management Review reserves the right to ask contributors to revise their manuscripts.

*It may not always be possible for P.U. Management Review to return the manuscripts received by it, hence contributors are advised to keep a copy of the manuscript with themselves.

*Contributors, may sometimes be asked to proofread the final version of their manuscript before it is published.

*Contributors, whose manuscripts are published in the P.U. Management Review, will receive free of cost one copy of the journal and five reprints of their article.

*The Contributors cede to P.U. Management Review the copyright of the articles published in it.

*The views expressed by individual contributors in P.U. Management Review do not necessarily reflect editorial opinion.
